France into Spain

The last major town before we reach Spain is Bayonne, slightly inland from the coast at the point where 2 rivers join and empty into a large inlet. This is Basque Country and often the signs around here are in two languages. The city gets its name from the Bayonette developed here in the 1600s. There are a lot of fortifications and old buildings remaining and looks very interesting so we decided to have a walk around the town.
